Holy Guacamole!

It’s Cinco de Mayo and on this 5th day of May Tacos and Fajitas seem to taste oh-so-good. There’s no better day of the year to go all out and prepare a gourmet at-home Mexican feast. We’re firm believers that no Cinco de Mayo celebration is complete without fresh homemade guacamole, and we’ve got the recipe for you.

If there’s one thing that we know about guacamole, it’s that it doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious. Fresh ingredients like ripe avocado, Kumato tomato and fresh garlic are the stars in this simple, flavorful and no-fuss guacamole. It’s a cinch to prepare and makes for a great taco or fajita topping and there’s simply no better dip for your tortilla chip.

What you’ll need:
A pestle and mortar
2 ripe avocados
1/2 onion
1 garlic clove
1 Kumato tomato
1/4 tsp of each:

  • Black Pepper
  • Cumin
  • Cayenne
  • Oregano
  • Ground Chipotle

Do this:
Halve the avocados, remove the pit and mash in the pestle and mortar.
Chop up your onion, garlic and tomato.
Throw into the mashed avocados and add the spices.
Mash all together and serve with tortilla chips.
