Summer Berry Salad

This simple salad is berry berry good! When I’m craving something sweet my usual go to – especially in summer – is snacking on sweet berries. My favorite has to be strawberries!

Naturally, it made sense to pair these berries with some delicious cheeses and crackers. In my Summer Berry Salad, I used tons of them along with, raspberries, apples, and cilantro. Diced and mixed together with 1/4 cup of berry preserves. You can just spoon feed yourself this salad, top a summer ice cream sundae, or top a cracker and goat cheese like I did here. These will make a nice appetizer for your menu or for any weeknight meal. I thought it nice to pair these with Rodney Strong Rosé or Pinot Noir. Not only is the Rosé refreshingly delicious and crisp – it’s also perfect to sip on during a hot summer day. Pair that with this delectable berry salad and you’ll be in summer heaven.

This is the place where I share simple and quality recipes that readers can easily make at home. I’m cooking up some fun in the kitchen in a really delicious way!

Well hello there! I’m Lauren “just a girl from Cleveland” and I really love food! I started cooking at age 6 when I put a half cup of baking soda into a batch of cookies instead of a half teaspoon. Because…what’s the worst that could happen, right? The cookies were a spectacular fail and it got me interested in cooking.

I’m a family taught cook and I say that instead of “self-taught” because it was with my family where I developed my love for cooking. Anyone can achieve what they want and they don’t have to follow the traditional path to do it. Thanks to the wonderful internet world I’ve been able to pursue my dream of cooking, all while staying at home. Sometimes it seems like a lot, but like I said, I just love food! And I love sharing that love with others.

Obviously food is my greatest passion in life, but I suppose there is a little more to me than just food. I am a fur-mama to two wonderful rescue pups, Herbie and Nelly and, our cat Grayson, who are all part of The Bite Size Pantry household. They love to follow me around in the kitchen and make the cleanup process a whole lot simpler. Simplicity is the main part of all my recipes, quick and simple meals with a creative uniqueness. And my mission in the kitchen is to make food, fun, accessible and simple for all.
