Woodstock-Inspired Granola 3 Ways

Today I’m going to show you how to make some amazing granola recipes that you are absolutely going to love! This month, August 2019, represents the 50-year anniversary of Woodstock.

If you’ve ever researched the food situation at Woodstock, it was bleak, my friends. They hired a group of people who had no experience running concession stands, I have no idea why. So food was pretty much at a big time shortage. They were selling hot dogs, price gouging them because they were running out and people started to get upset.

Woodstock-Inspired Granola 3 Ways

Well, believe it or not, the people that were in charge of the security detail at Woodstock, on the last morning started to serve everyone granola. They called it “breakfast in bed for hippies.” Looking back, it is a super cool and funny story, so I figured in light of granola at Woodstock, let’s make our own. It’s way easier than you think!

Woodstock-Inspired Homemade Granola 3 Ways

Ingredients

Simple Granola 

  • 4 cups oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup honey

Seeds and Raisins Granola

  • 4 cups oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • ½ cup chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup pepitas
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 1 cup raisins

Cherry and Chocolate Granola

  • 4 cups oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup chopped dried cherries
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Method

Simple Granola

  1. Combine all of the ingredients together in a large bowl until completely mixed. Transfer to a cookie sheet tray lined with parchment paper and spread out until flattened and even.
  2. Bake in the oven at 275° for 45 to 50 minutes stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature. Break up and serve.

Seeds and Raisins Granola

  1. Combine all of the ingredients together in a large bowl until completely mixed. Transfer to a cookie sheet tray lined with parchment paper and spread out until flattened and even.
